Theme:  Moving the needle on Infection Prevention

Global infection prevention week was celebrated at SAL hospital and SIMS from 15th October to 22nd October 2024. This year‘s theme was “Moving the needle on Infection Prevention”

The programme was co ordinated by Ms. Yamini Chauhan, Infection Control Nurse (ICN). The first week started with opening remarks and overview on the theme by Dr. Parijat N Goswami , Professor of Microbiology and Infection control officer emphasizing on the importance of ongoing day to day practices to be followed by the health care workers on Infection prevention and control. There was a Quiz on Biomedical waste management and practices of infection prevention which was conducted by Ms. Yamini Chauhan. Prizes were declared for best performing team.

Adding to the colours of the programme Dr. Mukesh Vakil, Dr. Hardik Dave, Dr. Raj Raval, Dr. Aruna Gautam, Dr. Shardul Chaurasia, and  Ms. Alice fernades shared their experiences and trained the staff during this program.  Poster presentation by the Nursing staff was done and best poster was announced.  Interactive learning event was organized by Mr.Kirtan Mehta from 3M as their part of education activity.

The concluding session was on 21st October where in, words of appreciation & prize distribution was done.
